… and so it goes, the seasons have changed and double nickels is no more.

We had great fun; wrote amazing songs, played out and made friends but fall as found us having to make hard decisions.

If something is growing it’s dying. Be in as many bands as you have time and energy for, just be sure your upfront about it; no one wants to found out via facebook that a scheduled session didn’t happen because you were at work doing sound, but you actually giged with your old band and didn’t man up about it.

… ditching a chance to play out, even an open mic is just not acceptable.

Communication and honesty are critical elements in building a great band and we had both for several months.

- I am a bit older and I don’t let these types of things stick to me, I have learned to cut off decay before I continue to invest myself.

I wish the best for all the people I’ve ever known musically, and am grateful for the personal growth our time allowed.

This tumblr will remain a memorial to the duo’s spring/summer/fall together. There may still be more tracks, as we have terabytes of data to be processed, but that is neither here nor there at the moment.

Here’s the skinny, I really wanted to go to the Kurt Vile/soft pack show at the Earl but really didn’t want to leave without getting something done and it was also my youngest’s birthday, so I stayed.

Good Mills went without me. I’ve texted a couple of times to find out if was sold out or not but haven’t heard back.

I’m really sort of glad I didn’t go; you see I like working.

I just want to get paid from it as well.

And I’m talking about this hear music.

Such was true of our 10/4/10 @wonderroot debut

I was socially awkward, making little to no contact

with the resident artists even though several of not

all who went on before us were quite good.

Starting with the angry young man and his Spanish

silvertone, to the kurzweil wielding banshee.

I don’t think I was very affable although we did

perform, edgwood , summer’s end, and BF very well.

I couldn’t hear thru the monitors and I seen one

gentleman holding his ears.

The lovely young Abigail did show up.

Her drawings were on display upstairs.

Such a mystery.

Mike was on as always. I floated him a copy of DN DEMO; there are only 17 of the original batch in existance, the kids worked diligently in production; these are to generate a reward; for sale only!

Mike said he’d return with a fiver for the disc and that he was going to use it to get us a star bar show.

More to come.

In the end, it’s not really about you, it’s about what you contribute, what you give. I don’t want to forget that, I want to impart something good and true, a torch to light The Way.

DN is so together and I’ve got to get a prescription to vyvanse because I feel so good on it. And yes there is tons of new material on our bandcamp. The Brad is getting aggro on the deerlip cover.

So I’m listening to KGB Man’s Angel on repeat and am a bit bummed. I think double nickels is finally over. I don’t think Mike’s girl likes me and most dudes will choose their gf’s over their band mates for obvious reasons. I seen her at Kroger, she said he was right around the corner. It was minutes from rehearsal time. No FB update or anything. Doesn’t matter too much, my production skills are getting stronger and I will press on.
